2014 was the second best ever for car market in Colombia thanks to a huge 52% December increase. Chevrolet defended its share at one fourth of total, followed by Renault & Kia.
In December 2014 according with data released by ASOPARTES, the Colombian Associations of car manufacturers, new Light Passengers Vehicles sold in Colombia have been 39.480, up a wonderful 52.3% from the correspondent month last year.
Full Year 2014 sales in Colombia have been 318.625, up 8.5% from 2013, the second best ever annual volume.
Chevrolet, the market dominator, was able to defend its market share ending the year with 82.021 sales (+10.8%) with a market share of 25.7%.
Behind a large group of competitors is very aggressive, leaded by Renault with 49.789 sales (+15.9%) with share at 15.6%.
In third place Kia with 31.644 units (+11.9%), Ford with 31.314 (+31.6%) and Nissan with 21.293 (+7.8%).
As far as the car groups performance and ranking, the leader was General Motors with 25.8% of market share, ahead of Renault-Nissan with 22.4% and Hyundai-Kia with 16.6%.
