Only small or compact models are reported in the ranking among top sellers because of the high taxation system. The best-seller this year is the Peugeot 208, followed closely by the Citroen C3. The Ford Kuga impresses and reaches 3rd place.
The Danish car passenger’s market is different from the others Scandinavian market, usually highly populated by large and expensive models, due to the peculiarity of the local taxation, which penalized the large size cars in favor of the small and compact.
Reading the 2020 sales ranking, the data confirms this peculiarity as the best seller is the Peugeot 208, up 2 spots from the previous year with 6.553 units (3.4% share). The second-best, the Citroen C3 is not far, reporting a 3.2% market share with 6.141 units sold.
In third place, the Ford Kuga registers an impressive performance and reaches 2.6% share with 5.134 units sold.
In fourth place the former leader, the Nissan Qashqai, reports 4.802 units sold (2.5% share), followed by the Toyota Aygo -up 4 spots- with 4.608 units (2.4% share), the Toyota Yaris -down 1 spot- with 4.487 units (2.3% share), and the Teska Model 3, up 22 spots with 4.279 units sold (2.2% share).
In eight place, the Citroen C1 -up 2 spots- with 3.919 units (2% share) followed by the Renault Clio -down 3 spots- with 3.879 units (2% share) and the Volkswagen Golf -down 3 spots- with 3.654 units (1.9% share).
