Portugal Best Selling Cars in the Year to Date May 2020 ranking is dominated by the Renault Clio, followed by the best premium model, the Mercedes Class A and the Peugeot 208. The Renault Captur free-falls at the edge of the Top 10 ranking.
While the Portuguese auto market struggles to recover from the Covid-19 crisis, the best selling car in 2020 is currently the Renault Clio, holding 5.2% of market share, with 2.737 Year to Date May sales (-51.3%).
The best premium model, the Mercedes Class A, gains the second position – up 2 spots from 2019 – with a market share at the best level ever (4%) and 2.146 units sold (-34%). The Peugeot 208 closes the market podium, with 1.685 sales (-50.7%).
The BMW 1 Series jumps in 4th position – signing the best top 10 performance – with 1.423 sales (-19.1%), followed by the Peugeot 2008 with 1.381 (-48.7%) and the Citroen C3 with 1.365 (-53.4%).
In seventh place, the Ford Focus with 1.155 (-43.7%) – up 4 spots – ahead of the Renault Megane with 1.152 (-58%), the Nissan Micra with 1019 (-48.6%) and the free-falling Renault Captur with 996, down by a disappointing 70%.
