World Car Market up to November 2023 reports the EV Tesla Model Y (+57.1%) as the segment leader, dethroning the Toyota Corolla (+0.7%). The Toyota Hilux (-3.9%) underperforms in the first 11 months of the year.

Despite it being very hard to replace the traditional models from the very top of our Top 100 Ranking List, new EV models are ramping up across the global leaderboard with the automotive industry moving more and more towards electrification. 

Looking at the cumulative data up to November 2023, the best-selling car in the World becomes the Tesla Model Y -up 3 spots- with 1.06 million units sold (+57.1%).

Second place is in the hands of previous year’s leader the Toyota Corolla, with current YTD sales at 1.01 million up 0.7% from the previous year.

The Toyota RAV4 falls 1 spot into 3rd reporting 819,780 cumulative sales, up 3.6% from the sales period last year

The first pick-up in the rankings is the Ford F-Series, in 4th with 777,231 sales and a 12.0% year-on year growth.

In 5th place ranks the Honda CR-V -up 1 spot- with 629,765 sales (+15.2%), followed by the Toyota Camry -down 1 spot- with 572,015 sales (-5.9%) and the Hyundai Tucson -up 3 spots- with 562,211 new registrations (+13.0%).

The Chevrolet Silverado ranks in 8th with 535,957 sales (+0.1%), followed by the Toyota Hilux with 521,633 (-3.9%) and the Ram pick-up -down 1 spot- with 471,613 new registrations (-5.8%).

The most remarkable performances for the other models within the Top 100 are mostly related to electric vehicles like the BYD Dolphin in 33rd (+57.5%)and the BYD Yuan Plus in 36th (+91.0%).
