Slovakia Auto Sales finally recovers in double-digit. Total sales in 2023 reach 88,003 (+11.6%). Following two years stable at low level, the market accelerated but is still far from pre-covid level. Skoda Octavia is by far the best selling model.
Market Trend and Outlook
Slovakian auto market exponentially growing in comparison to last year, with 88,003 total sales (+11.6%). Differently from December which falls for the first time after a 13 month positive streak, reaching only 5,328 new registrations (-17,4%).
Looking at cumulative data up to December 2023 brand-wise, Skoda maintains leadership with 17,419 sales (+25.8%), followed by Toyota -up 2 spots- at 10,288 (+24.2%) and Kia at 9,470 registrations (+6.0%).
Hyundai falls 2 spots into 4th with 8,920 sales (-3.7%), in front of Volkswagen at 6,299 (-8.6%), Dacia at 3,995 (+7.2%) and Peugeot with 3,403 new registrations (+1.3%).
Mercedes maintains 8th position with 3,274 sales (+24.4%), followed by BMW -up 1 spot- at 2,724 (+21.4%) and Suzuki -up 3 spots- in 10th with 2,351 sales (+49.1%).
Looking at specific models the Skoda Octavia so far sold the most cars (+74.3%) making up 4 places in the leaderboard, followed by the Kia Cee’d up 10.9% in year-on-year sales.
