Venezuela Auto Industry

Venezuela Auto Industry collapsed in 2014 falling in 82nd global rank as sales fell down from near 100.000 to only 24.248 and main carmakers are abandoning the country, severely hit by economic recession and government restrictions.

In December 2014 according to data released by CAVENEZ the local Association of Car Manufacturers, the total new Light Passengers Vehicles sold have been 5.229, up 76.7% fueled by year end rush.

This performance has broken a negative series started in December 2012.

However, it has reduced just a bit the huge loss scored in the year.

Full Year 214 sales in Venezuela have been 24.248, down 75.4% from the 98.703 sales reported in the previous year. The market fell down from the 55th global place to the 82nd losing 27spots.

The market has been destroyed by the deep economic recession that followed the new socialist government restrictive actions with huge level of unemployment and persistent recession.
