World Best Selling Small Car Ranking 2025. The Toyota Yaris and the BYD Seagull stumble at the top, soon to be overtaken by the Renault Clio which climbed 3 spots. The Toyota Yaris Cross grew 8 spots and entered the top 10.
In this article, we introduce the global ranking for cars with a size around 4 meter, defined “Small Cars”.
Looking at full-year figures for 2025 the leader was still the Toyota Yaris (-13.3%) with a share of 3.8%.
In second place the BYD Seagull with a 2.7% share (-29.7%), followed by the Renault Clio -up 3 spots- in 3rd (+8.3%).
Under the podium the Volkswagen T-Roc climbed 1 spot into 4th (+6.8%). The Volkswagen Polo -down 2 spots- followed in 5th (-18.4%).
The Dacia Sandero -down 2 spots- ranked 6th (-10.8%). The Nissan Kicks placed 7th (+13.3%), followed by the Volkswagen T-Cross -up 1 spot- (+13.2%). The the BYD Dolphin -up 1 spot- ranked 9th (+5.3%) while the Toyota Yaris Cross -up 8 spots- closed the top 10 (+22.6%).
