World Best Selling Small Car Ranking 2025. The BYD Seagull rose to 2nd, replacing the Volkswagen Polo which fell into 3rd. The Volkswagen T-Cross emerged as new competitor, up 3 spots into 7th.
In this article, we introduce the global ranking for cars with a size around 4 meter, defined “Small Cars”.
Looking at H1 figures for 2025 the leader was the Toyota Yaris (-4.4%) with a share of 4.3%.
In second place the BYD Seagull with a 3% share (+5%), followed by the Renault Clio -up 3 spots- in 3rd (+9.1%).
Under the podium the Volkswagen T-Roc climbed 1 spot into 4th (+3.4%). The Volkswagen Polo -down 3 spots- followed in 5th (-12.5%).
The Dacia Sandero -down 2 spots- ranked 6th (-11.5%). The Volkswagen T-Cross placed 7th -up 3 spots- (+21.5%), followed by the Nissan Kicks -up 1 spot- (+8.9%). The the Peugeot 208 -down 1 spot- ranked 9th (-0.2%) while the Peugeot 2008 -up 3 spots- closed the top 10 (+19.7%).
