2014 was the 5th growth in a series for the car market in Latvia again with a double digit increase. The market is a feud of Volkswagen Group with Skoda Yeti as best-selling model followed by Nissan Qasquai and VW Golf.
In December 2014 according to data released by Auto Asociacjia, the local Association of Car Manufacturers, total new Car Passengers sold in Latvia have been 1.000, up 22.2% compared with the correspondent month last year.
Full Year 2014 sales in Latvia have been 12.638, up 17.4% from 2013. This was the fifth annual increase in a row after that the 2009 market collapse.
Including the LCVs sales the sale had been 14.988.
Albeit having stopped year end deliveries, Volkswagen was again the market leader selling 2.531 vehicles (including LCVs) improving 23.2%, with 16.9% of market share.
Toyota in second sold 1.833 units (+23.2%) followed by Skoda with 1.284 (+42.4%).
As far as the car groups performance and ranking leader was Volkswagen Group with 28.7% of market share, ahead of Renault-Nissan with 15.8% and Toyota with 13.5%.
As far as best-selling models ranking, the Skoda Yeti was on top of the list with 620 sales (+123.8%) ahead of Nissan Qashqai with 534 units (+165.7%) and Volkswagen Golf with 501 (+11.3%).
