World Best Selling Executive Cars ranking in 2024. Mercedes E Class (-2.5%) reclaims leadership after a weak 2023, followed by the Audi A6 (-23.6%). Wuling Starlight sales spike 582% as it secures a spot in the top 10.
We are reporting in this article the Global Ranking (total sales in the 160 countries we track) for the Executive cars, large (and usually luxury) vehicles with a size over the 4.8 meters, in the 3/4/5 doors and wagon.
In the last decade this segment was dominated by two models, the Mercedes E Class and the archrival, the BMW 5 Series.
Looking at cumulative sales from 2024, the Mercedes E Class reclaims its position as the segment leader after a weak performance in the prior year. Sales reached 251,807 (-1.6%).
In second place ranked the Audi A6 with 235,464 sales (-8.3%), followed in third by the BYD Han with 209,763 units sold (-0.3).
In fourth place ranked previous year’s leader the BMW 5 Series with 209,607 sales (-20.8%), followed by the Hongqi H5 with 149,045 sales (+28.0%), the Zeekr 001 -up 2 spots- with 102,173 sales (+33.8%) and the Toyota Crown -up 2 spots- with 88,151 units sold (+29.1%).
In eight place the Hongqi E-QM5 -down 2 spots- with 81,056 sales (+2.4), ahead of the Wuling Starlight with 72,995 sales (+582.5%),
Closing the Top 10 there is the Hyundai Grandeur with 71,656 new units sold (-36.6%).
