In this article we report on the global ranking of car manufacturers considered as a group, aggregating sales done for each brand owned by the same group.
Looking at YTD data up to July 2025, the leader was Toyota Group with a 12.6% share (+5.4%). It gained 9.3% in Asia and 3.6% in America.
The 2nd was Volkswagen Group with a 9.8% share (+0.8%). It reported losses in Asia (-1.3%) but grew 3.4% in Europe.
In third place, Hyundai-Kia reported a 8.2% share, down 2.6%. It posted losses in Europe (-3.2%) and America (+10.1%).
Stellantis -up 1 spot- ranked in 4th while gaining 0.5%, growing in Asia (+29.5%) but falling in Europe (-5.5%).
Renault Nissan Alliance -down 1 spot- ranked 5th (-2.4%). It fell 7.6% in Asia and 0.5% in Europe.
General Motors ranked 6th (+3.5%). Down 26.9% in Europe and gained 6.7% in America.
Ford Group followed in 7th (+4%), losing 11.2% in Asia and gaining 7% in America.
Honda Motor ranked 8th (-4.6%), reporting one of the best performances overall, with losses mainly in Asia (-15.3%) and Europe (-20.7%).
In 9th place, Geely Group rose 2 spot, gaining 35.8% in volume. The group gained 51.4% in Asia but lost 4.2% in Europe.
Closing the top 10, BYD ranked 10th (+13.4%) with major gains in Europe (+393.2%), Asia (+7.4%) and America (+38.5%).
