Japan best selling cars 2017 led by the kei-car Daihatsu Move, jumped up 280%, ahead of the rival, the Honda N-Box. The first standard car was the former leader, the Toyota Prius while Toyota C-HR was the best new entrance.

Japanese vehicles market is the third in the World and really mature. In the recent years total sales had been between 5.0 million and 5.5 million (in the 2014). The 2017 was extremely positive and, according to the data released by the JADAJAMA and JAIA, the total vehicles (including HCVs and Bus) sold in the country have been 5.26 million (+5.3%).

At model-wise, in the 2017 the ranking was revolutionized by the boost of k-cars, while the standard vehicles sales declined.

Looking at the ranking of best 100 models sold, the top of the list shows a new market leader, the Daihatsu Move, with 270.455 sales (+280.6%) with a wide gap over all the others.

In second place again a kei-car, the Honda N-Box with 218.478 units (+35.9%) followed by the 2016 leader, the Toyota Prius with 160.912 sales (-19.1%). 

In fourth place the Daihatsu Tanto with 141.312 (-9.4%) ahead of the Nissan Note with 138.905 (+35.6%), the Nissan Dayz with 137.514 (+152.8%) and the 2016 leader, the Toyota Aqua with 131.615 (-21.8%).

In eight place the new Toyota C-HR with 117.299 units followed by the Suzuki Wagon R with 114.711 (+41.4%) and in 10th place the Honda Freed with 104.405 (+100%).
